Dear Friends in Senior Care,

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I am reaching out to introduce myself as an experienced Activities Director who is passionate about bringing joy, purpose, and connection to the residents of your senior living community. I am beginning an exciting new journey — relocating from Texas to Colorado — and I am eager to bring my passion, experience, and fresh ideas to a community that values enriching the lives of its residents. With over 20 years of experience in programming, curriculum development, and community engagement, I am confident in my ability to build and lead an activities program that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the seniors your community serves.

Throughout my career, I have specialized in creating meaningful activities that promote cognitive function, physical well-being, and social connection. At Spring Creek Adult Retirement & Memory Care, where I currently serve as Activities Director, I designed our memory care programming from the ground up — introducing sensory activities, validation therapy techniques, and structured daily routines that have measurably reduced anxiety and agitation among our memory care residents. I plan and lead group exercises, arts and crafts, music therapy, reminiscence sessions, and community outings, all tailored to varying cognitive and physical ability levels.

What truly sets me apart is my commitment to innovation. I am currently co-developing Compass, a digital activities management platform designed specifically for senior care communities. Compass streamlines activity planning, documentation, and family communication — replacing paper calendars and manual logs with an intuitive digital system. I have been intimately involved in shaping the platform's features based on real-world experience: I pilot new features with my residents, provide feedback on usability, and help guide the product roadmap to ensure it solves the actual day-to-day challenges that Activities Directors face. This unique perspective — combining hands-on caregiving with technology development — gives me a depth of understanding that few in my field can offer.

I bring to your community:

Proven leadership — I have built activities departments from scratch, managed budgets, led teams, recruited and scheduled volunteers, and ensured compliance with state regulations for survey readiness.

Montessori-trained approach — I incorporate Montessori methodology into my programming, focusing on person-centered care that respects each resident's abilities, interests, and life story.

Community building — I have created signature programs like the "Now & Then Memory Wall," "Words of Wisdom" displays, and multi-day tournament events that foster connection and give residents a sense of purpose and legacy.

Technology fluency — My work on Compass has made me deeply familiar with digital tools for activity planning, documentation, and family communication — skills that translate directly to efficient, modern community management.

I am seeking a community in Colorado that values creativity, compassion, and innovation in its activities programming — a place where I can bring my full range of experience to make a tangible difference in residents' lives. As I embark on this new chapter, I am excited about the opportunity to share the knowledge and programs I have built over the past two decades with your community, and to continue growing alongside your team. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my background and vision align with your community's goals.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,
Amanda Baxter
